- Primary responsibility will be training and observation oftrainees with respect to their performance against established trainingobjectives and recommendation of additional skill requirements as needed.
- Train new, entry-level employees (Fresher-Coders)
- Identify training gaps in the team and develop a plan withTraining Manager for retraining sessions. Will be responsible for successfulimplementation of retraining sessions.
- Develop and update ED facility coding, EM OP & IP CodingTraining content and material
- Assist in developing general training instructions, checklists,and audio-visual aids.
- Responsible for creating required training modules.
- Conduct & assist in certifications trainings (CPC, COC, CEDC,CEMC).
- Perform all training activities in compliance with all company andUS healthcare & federal regulations.
- Maintain files of training materials. Maintain organized log(s) ofall training conducted.
- During non-training or non-production periods the trainer would beinvolved in conducting Refresher trainings for Coders, preparation of trainingmanuals, understanding & learning the process specificities of the variouscoding projects.
- Monitoring and reviewing the progress of trainees through Trainingneed analysis (TNA feedback).
- Amendingand revising Coding training programs as necessary based on industry updatesand client mandates.
Min 3 years’ coding experience in ED facility Coding, EM IP &OP Coding with CPC Coding certification). Preferably at least6-12 months experience in auditing, training, or SME role. Should haveexperience in prominent coding and billing software and coding tools. Should befamiliar with CPT, HCPCS, Modifiers, ICD-10-CM, Medical necessity, LCD lookup,NCCI edits, CMS RVU, Bundling edits, MUE edits.
